Aberystwyth

Aberystwyth's seafront is a focal point of the town and a favorite with visitors and locals. It has a pier and a fine seafront which stretches from Constitution Hill at the north end of the Promenade to the mouth of the harbour at the south, taking in two separate beach stretches divided by the ruins of a 12th century castle. The mile-long Promenade is popular with walkers, joggers, bikers  and those who just want to relax by the seaside.

To carry you all the way to the top of Constitution Hill is the Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway. This is the longest electric cliff railway in Britain, giving access to fine views and other attractions at the top. There are Market Halls located at the top of Great Darkgate which expand into the street every Wednesday and Saturday and a Farmers Market is held in the town on the third Friday of every month.

Aberystwyth is one of the culture capitals of Wales and is home to the National Library and the University. Aberystwyth Arts Centre is one of the largest and busiest arts centres in Wales. It encompasses a theater, concert hall, cinema, studio and galleries. The Arts Centre's program includes shows, exhibitions and films throughout the year. Its bars and cafes are also popular places to meet, especially as the hilltop location gives one of the best views in town.
